Sweet corn also called sugar corn is variety of maize with a high sugar content Sweet corn is the result of naturally occurring recessive mutation in ht genes which control conversion of sugar to starch inside the endosperm of the corn kernels .
Unlike filed corn varieties , sweet corn is packed when immature (milk stage ) and prepared and eaten as a vegetable ,rather than a grain . Since the process of maturation involves converting sugar to starch . we commercialised two sweet corn varities which are best suitable for fresh , conned , or frozen Market.
